• 11 Jul 2011: Telecom Italia announced the acquisition of Brazilian telecom infrastructure company AES Optimus for circa Euro 700 million. AES Optimus owns optical fiber network in south Brazil.
 
• 17 Jun 2011: Casino, the French retail group announced today that it is increasing its stake in Grupo Pao de Ašucar (owned by the Diniz family) from 33 to 37,7 %.
 
• 27 May 2011: UK based British American Tobacco has agreed to buy Colombia's second largest Tocacco manufacturer Productora Tabacalera de Colombia for an amount of US$ 452 Million.
 
• 22 May 2011: UK Private Equity fund Actis just agreed to buy Distribuidora de Electricidad de Oriente, S.A. (Deorsa) and Distribuidora de Electricidad de Occidente, S.A. (Deocsa)in Guatemala for US$ 449 Million.
 
• 14 May 2011: World's largest Cement company lafarge agreed to sell some of its US assets for circa US$ 760 Million to Colombia's Cementos Argos.
 
• 06 May 2011: Independent and privately owned French petroleum company Perenco announced partial IPO of its local unit in Brazil: Perenco Petroleo e Gas do Brasil Participacoes S.A. Perenco is the operator of five offshore exploration blocks in the Espirito Santos Basin. Proceeds of this IPO will be used to develop Brazilian activities.
 
• 04 May 2011: UK Experian Group (Credit scoring business) is buying Colombian credit service information company Computec for circa US$ 400 million.
 
• 22 Apr 2011: Fitch upgraded Brazil Sovereign debt to BBB on April 5th 2011. The first of the three major rating agencies to make this upgrade move. The country still remains BBB- stable outlook with S&P and Baa3 positive outlook with Moodys. Further upgrades are expected in the coure of 2011.
 
• 22 Apr 2011: EDF Energie Nouvelles announced on April 18th 2011 the acquisition of two wind projects in Mexico totalling 324 megawatts from Eolia Renovables de Inversiones.
 
• 13 Aug 2010: Norsk Hydro ASA, Europe's third- largest aluminum maker, in large deal in Brazil. NH will buy mine assets from Vale SA for Euro 3,7 billion. This will help the company secure a century's worth of bauxite supplies.
