Otto NIÑO, 34, has over 8 years of banking experience both in corporate as well as investment banking. Former Vice President of Business Development for Citigroup Latin America, he covered the relationship with some of the top Financial Institutions and Public Sector entities including Central Banks, Development Banks and Multilateral Finance Organizations in the Latin American region. He has a comprehensive knowledge and experience in International Business Development with focus on Financial Services and Products for Financial Institutions. During his years in Citigroup he accumulated experience as credit risk analyst, relationship manager as well as product manager.

His product skills range from international trade, treasury and cash management to loan syndications, corporate finance and M&A. He has a comprehensive knowledge of the Latin American markets in the areas of Cash Management & International Trade as well as in the field of Corporate Finance and M&A having participated in the analysis and strategic planning for Citigroup’s acquisition of Banco Cuscatlán and Banco Uno in Central America as well as other M&A transactions with Financial Institutions.

As part of his career as banker he also managed transactional banking products delivered by Citigroup in Guatemala and Central America including local correspondent banking & branch network extension, amongst others. He participated directly in the introduction and implementation of the image-based check clearing process for international check clearing for Citibank Guatemala branch under the Check 21 Clearing Act and elaborated the product program for the rollout implementation in other countries in Central America.

Multicultural and fluent in four languages (Spanish, English, Portuguese and French) he is an economist with a master’s degree in entrepreneurial economics.
